I fell in love with Bill's Tele inspired guitar built by Rick Kelly. I didn't have the money or the patience to wait two years for a Rick Kelly Tele, so I went looking for something to put a set of Charlie Christian pups in for fun. I ended Going with a company called Logan. He makes Tele's for a very affordable price, although if I had it to do over I wouldn't have got binding due to it having some flaws. Besides the few cosmetic details the guitar plays and sounds awesome. I love the CC Rider pickups in the guitar. She has a Cedar Core with a Rosewood top and a Mahogany back. She also has a Soft V shape Maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. It's your standard 9.5 radius guitar. Here is my Tele, now show me yours!

Wow that looks cool, is that bridge pickup a Charlie Christian? I've seen a CC neck pickup, but not bridge before. What does it sound like?
I do have a Tele - an American Vintage 64...

Sorry I dont have any decent pics of my Tele and it's currently at a friend's house. It's a Lake Placid Blue American Vintage 64 and its a gorgeous thing. I'm hoping to sell it and get something more modern though! I too love the look of that rosewood-necked snake-head tele Bill plays... I also love his painted tele with Jaguar neck (pictured at the top of the forum). I have several excellent artists in my family (my Dad is a painter) so I've considered having them do something similar for me. I think maybe a second hand Olympic White American Standard might be a good base for such a project. Attachments:

Yea, I wanted one in the bridge too. It's a really cool sounding guitar. The Bridge pickup has a nice bit of compression to it. Basically it has a fat single coil almost p90 sound. It's a little thicker and warmer than a single, but not as muddy in the mids as a p90.
Thats a nice looking guitar. What are you wanting when you say modern?

That Rick Kelly guitar is really cool. Love the neck on it.
I have a Tom Anderson Tele that I like very much, but have no photos of. It's a short scale (for Anderson - 24.75") and has 3 pups and a vibrato.

My favorite Bill tones include a Tele. He sounds like a Master (like he is) on every guitar he plays...but the Tele seems to suit him so well. I traded for this one....Kelly Bowery Pine, big DD fir neck, no truss rod, artwork burned by Cindy. Vibrates like an acoustic.

I've played one Rick Kelly and it did have a very big neck on it. I'd get used to it! Bob

When I say more modern I mean something I can whizz around on and bend on a bit more and with a trem and locking tuners.
Maybe a PRS S2 or a second hand Suhr. Then I'll look for a cheaper Tele to fill the void...

Rambler, check out an Anderson Tele. They are womderful, and you can get one with a vibrato. All have loving tuners.

I think my favorite Tele that I've ever played was by Danocaster. That thing felt amazing. I have a Suhr strat that I had custom made back in 2006. It feels great so I suspect their Tele's would be the same.

Thanks...I really liked that Tele. It's gone now though. I'd go for something with a flatter radius next time. I'm dead picky about guitars though - I think certain guitars have a special 'bloom' to the notes, and I really hate wolf notes! My USA Strat has a dead spot on the A...but then so do most Strats. I find with Teles it's usually B. Something to do with the mass of the body/neck.
Has anyone here played a Parker Fly? They are supposed to be very even across the neck due to the carbon fibre casing...
