How about we agree on a tune and everyone transcribe a piece if possible. Just pick a section, lick or phrase that stands out to you and transcribe it to the best of your abilities. We could switch tunes every week or month. By doing this we could gain insight into Bill's playing and tunes.
Yay, Nay?

Let's see if we can get a few more people on board before we do this, then we can create new threads per tune. This way we could always go back to the thread for reference.
So, anyone else interested in this idea?

Anyone want to nominate a tune for this?

Honestly the things I gravitate towards are albums where Bill makes guest appearances or collaborations with other artist. Albums like Angel Song by Kenny Wheeler, Romance of the Unseen by Don Byron, I Have the Room Above Her by the Paul Motian Trio, The Windmills of Your Mind by Paul Motian, and Efants Terribles by Lee Konitz to name a few. Are any of those something people are interested in? I'll admit I'm to lazy to transcribe a entire song, but I thought about transcribing a few bars here and there that stand out to me.

Just been listening to Romance In The Unseen by Don Byron - great stuff, lovely feel. Listening to News for Lulu by John Zorn now - this is amazing!
