Here's my 2001/2002 made '69 Thinline Telecaster in Daphne, just like Bill used throughout the 2000s. While it's Mexican made and does not necessarily come with a high price tag, Fender made a limited few in the Daphne color, so it's a rare find. Dumb luck let me stumble upon its Craigslist ad, and what do you know, the seller lived 2 blocks from me! I've modded the guitar to the same specs that Bill had done to his: Fender CS Nocaster pickups, all new electronics (Emerson, in my case), and Callaham compensated brass saddles. All in all, it's surprisingly mid-range heavy with a wood-like tone. The tone knob is absolute magic, however. With a flick of the wrist, you can summon dry jazz tones or classic ice-pick tele tones. Now, does anyone have a Klein guitar for sale?!?!
