I love Bill's bridge hum bucker tone, like he gets on the live in Montreal Jazz Festival footage on Youtube. Anyone know what kinds of hum buckers he uses and what kind of spec I should be looking for? I'm guessing low output, vintage style.

I think you are right,....low output, vintage-type. I like the Seymour Duncan Antiquities.

I don't know what Bill has in his Jagcaster, but I know he was using Harmonic Design's Vintage Plus and Z-90 pickups in some of his guitars around that time. Maybe look into the vintage plus humbucker. www.harmonicdesign.net/allpages/gibsons.htmlIt might be the humbucker in thAT guitar, but I am not sure.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think the Harmonic Design pup is a bit out of my measly budget. I'm impressed by their reviews though. I've decided on a second hand Duncan Pearly Gates as it's for a strat and those apparently have the 'air' and presence that match the single coils well.
