Hi Guys
I find playing the electric guitar as much a source of frustration as a source of joy at times. To get better, you need to hear better players, but you also need a window into what they're doing. Then you need to assimilate aspects of what they are doing into what you do. You also need a context in which your playing can live (a band maybe). The fretboard is a jungle, and sometimes I feel like I can't see the wood for the trees. As similarly minded creative guitarists...how do you get better?

Good question. I tend to just work on what I know. How to use a voicing in a different context, or maybe take one motif and work it through a progression. I guess I really try to get a grasp on the handful of concepts I use. This alone can take as long as you want it to.
